Landcare Heroes 2008
This year's National Landcare Awards include the option to vote for your favourite finalists, and watch a live webcast of the awards.
Held every two years, the National Landcare Awards is the premier event recognising environmental achievement by Australians.
There are ten award categories, each contested by the winners of last year's State and Territory Landcare Awards. Every year, the main awards are judged by a panel of experts.
Now, for the first time, the public get to choose Australia’s first winner of the People’s Choice Award category. Decided by a running vote tally that closes on midnight October 22nd 2008, The People’s Choice winner will be announced alongside the judged winners on the awards night to be held at Parliament House, Canberra on October 23rd.
Visitors to the new website can register to vote for nominees across ten categories. The nominee registering the highest number of votes collectively will be announced as the People's Choice Award winner on the night.
